Setup Guide
  1. Turn the headset and case on.
  2. Find "Zygo" in your phone's list of Bluetooth connectivity devices.
  3. Flip the case's antenna up and leave it poolside; your phone can be up to 30 feet away from the case.
  4. Stream any audio directly from your phone to the headset while you swim, up to ~100 meters away at 2-3 feet below the surface.
  5. Download the Zygo App for guided swim workouts paired to music and a walkie-talkie for live one-way communication.
  6. After your swim, dry off the headset and return it to the case. If the case's battery is charged, the headset will charge wirelessly. You can check the battery status of both devices in our app.

I love my Zygo

Thank you for a great and very easy way to listen to music (or whatever I want) while I swim. There are days that just knowing I'll be able to have some music during my laps inspires me to get myself to the pool. I've noticed some updates to the gear that are great. The sound is good, the connection is fast, the range is amazing. Your customer service is really good and much appreciated; I've been a happy customer for a while. I’m 77. I ve been swimming for over 25 years. I do it for exercise. Zygo makes the time in the pool so much more enjoyable. Several times I have quit swimming due to the boredom . Can I stream anything on Zygo?
Yes. Zygo connects to your phone (or other audio source) and streams whatever it is playing, be it Spotify, a podcast, audio book, or the guided workouts in our App.
What is the battery life?
The headset's battery lasts 2 to 3 hours depending on the volume. Higher volume drains the battery faster, so to conserve battery, we recommend keeping the volume down and using the earplugs we provide in the case, or your own. The case's internal battery can charge the headset roughly 7 times, resulting in many hours of wireless charge. You can download our app for free to check your real time battery status.
What is the range?
The range depends on how deep you are and the type of water (salt water versus fresh water makes a big difference). At 2 feet below the surface in a chlorinated swimming pool, the range should be roughly 50 meters. To get the best range possible, make sure to extend the case's antenna before powering the case on, and leave it poolside. Having it elevated—for example, on a chair or table—helps increase the range even further.
Do I pair Zygo with my phone via Bluetooth?
Yes. When you power on the Zygo case, your phone should find it right away in its list of Bluetooth devices. If Zygo doesn't automatically appear, toggle your phone's Bluetooth off and back on, and wait for Zygo to appear. If Zygo still doesn’t show up, power off your Zygo case and power it back on, then within 90 seconds look for Zygo in your phone’s list of Bluetooth devices. If a code pops up on your phone to pair, press pair; there is nothing else you need to do with your unit.
Does Zygo count laps?
Yes! The Z2 headset tracks laps. At the moment, it is pretty accurate with flip turns; however, for touch turns, the algorithm is not quite there yet. You can view your immediate lap count for free in our app and you can save swims to see a historical record over time with a subscription. Can I listen to podcasts and audiobooks?
Yes and in fact we have a setting called Spoken Word mode to specifically enhance the clarity of podcasts and audiobooks. Make sure your firmware is up-to-date, then when the case and headset are on, press the case button and you will see its light turn red—this indicates you are now in Spoken Word mode. (Press again to return to Music mode.)
Does it work during flip turns?
Yes! The Z2 has a new algorithm to prevent cutouts during flip turns. As a result, you will notice a 3-second buffer when you first play audio to your headset.
Do you have patents?
Yes indeed. We have three patents around our technology to stream live audio underwater.
Where do you ship?
We ship within the continental US at no charge, and to Hawaii and Alaska for an extra fee. As a small startup, we aren't in a position to offer the same high level of customer service around the world, but we hope to expand internationally in the near future.
What's the difference between Zygo and other swim headsets?
All other swim headsets are either an MP3 player that requires pre-loading or they use Bluetooth, which cannot travel through water. Zygo streams straight from your phone underwater. Our patented technology converts Bluetooth into a different radio frequency that is able to penetrate water and enable you to listen to any audio from your phone in the pool, just as you do on land.
What is the warranty?
We offer a one-year warranty on the Z2 from the time you receive your order. This is only valid within the US and does not apply to customers who are using their Zygo abroad. We also sell a second year of warranty for $69.
What is your return policy?
Within 30 days of receiving your Zygo, we have a money-back guarantee as long as the product is in working condition. Beyond that, we accept returns on a case-by-case basis. In all instances, we process refunds after receiving the product back.
Can I play audio from my smart watch?
You cannot use your watch to stream directly to the headset since Bluetooth does not travel through water; that's why we have the case—to convert Bluetooth into a different radio frequency. You could technically pair your watch to the transmitter but the watch would need to stay on land, as the Bluetooth signal would fail if you wear your watch while swimming.
